How does this work?
Our program works because we do not spend a lot of time talking about your behavior, the drugs you may have used, or how you have suffered abuses. We encourage you to not identify yourself with your diagnosis or your past and we help you learn to stop thinking of yourself as a victim. You will become aware of who you think you are so that you will be able to change who you think you are.
Can I continue taking my medications?
In the case of prescription medicine this is the choice the client and his doctor make even though it may be more difficult to get in touch with feelings when drugs are used. In reality almost all our clients end up being free of medication. Any medicine prescribed for depression only masks but does not cure the depression.
Most clients choose to limit their drug intake and they are often completely medication-free especially after a prolonged stay at the retreat centre.
